The terminal stays in use for tours, events and exhibitions — the exhibition in its tower alone drew over 125,000 visitors in 2025 — while needing work on its roof, structure and services. The roof works, once due to finish at the end of 2026, now run into early 2027. The Senate has declined to fund comprehensive renovation from special reserves, so the rest has no timetable.
