Hosting and server log files

The site is hosted by Hostinger. When you open a page, your browser sends the server technical information that it needs to deliver the page, and the server records it in log files: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page, the amount of data sent, the status of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. We use this information only to deliver the site, to keep it secure and stable, and to see in aggregate which pages are read and which search engines read them. We do not combine it with other data or use it to identify visitors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hostinger processes this data on our behalf; see Hostinger's privacy policy. Log files are kept only as long as these purposes require.

Fonts, images and links

Fonts, images, scripts and the feeds are all served from this site, not loaded from third parties, so opening a page contacts no other server. The photographs come from Wikimedia Commons but are stored here. Links to other websites (for example the museums, operators and newspapers cited as sources, or Wikimedia Commons) send data to those sites only when you click them; their own privacy policies then apply.

Email

If you write to us, for example to report a date that has moved, we use your email address and what you write only to answer you and to correct the site, and we delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed for that. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the site accurate (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected, erased or restricted, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Articles 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to info@berlinexperiences.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (datenschutz-berlin.de).
