From 14 June to 12 December 2026 no regional or long-distance trains run between Charlottenburg and Ostbahnhof — the elevated line past Zoo, Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstraße and Alexanderplatz. RE1 and RE7 terminate at the edges; RE2 diverts via Gesundbrunnen and Ostkreuz. The S-Bahn runs throughout and is the way across town.
