Once the regional tracks reopen in December 2026, the work moves to the S-Bahn. From 11 June to 2 September 2027 no S-Bahn trains run between Friedrichstraße and Tiergarten, cutting the S3, S5, S7 and S9 off from Hauptbahnhof. Ten worn expansion joints on the Hauptbahnhof bridges are the main job, with new points at Tiergarten and bridge bearings in Moabit. Regional trains will be back on the viaduct but do not stop at Bellevue or Tiergarten. No replacement-bus plan has been published.
