The rococo theatre inside the Neues Palais was brought back into service in 2020 after its own restoration. It closed again in 2025, and is expected to stay shut until the end of 2027, while the palace's reception rooms below are rebuilt: the Untere Rote Kammern and the Marquis d'Argens apartment become the info point, cloakroom, catering kitchen, step-free toilets and a lift serving both the museum floor and the theatre.
