Inspectors found damage severe enough to close both A100 bridges at no notice in March 2025. They were knocked down within weeks. Rebuilding started in October 2025 under a bonus-malus contract — money for finishing early, penalties for running late — with traffic due back over the new Ringbahnbrücke in summer 2027. Both bridges are meant to finish together.
