Around €70m of maintenance and modernisation runs to 2029 — the largest programme at the stadium since 2004. Both roof membranes have to be replaced on age grounds: that alone takes five years and about €15m. In 2020 work was under way on five of the 136 external columns carrying the roof. The stadium stays in use throughout.
