Building the second north–south tunnel means closing the existing one between Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburger Tor for roughly two and a half years, taking the S1, S2, S25 and S26 out of the middle of the city. The difficulty is docking the new line into the Heuboden, a 1930s tunnel stub now used for storage, which has to be partly rebuilt. No date has been fixed.
