The copper roof, the original roof structure and the balustrade with its sculpture are being renewed across the whole building, section by section. The theatre wing went first under the earlier programme; the current phase began on the theatre wing and southern corps de logis in October 2024 and further sections follow to 2028. The palace stays open throughout — you just have to accept that part of it is behind scaffolding whenever you go.
