Since May 2026 the 1891 fountain in front of the Rotes Rathaus has been hidden behind scaffolding and timber walls while Mitte renews the basin, its sealing and the fountain machinery and restores the rock and bronze figures. Completion is planned for the end of 2026, at about €1.2m.
