The 1963 premiere house on Karl-Marx-Allee closed on 14 May 2024 and the builders moved in the next morning. Around 80 per cent of the technology was replaced behind a listed facade, glass front and roof. Regular screenings resumed on 26 February 2026, with the official gala on 3 March — under two years, which around here counts as a miracle.
