The exhibition in the 1987 Hall of Remembrance closed on 29 August 2026, and the ruined tower with it. When it returns in 2028 or 2029 there will be new levels and a lift carrying visitors high into the ruin, a new exhibition, and — for the first time — an admission charge. The modern church follows: it is due to close for about two years from early summer 2027 and reopen, still free, in 2029. Eiermann's bell tower, scaffolded for roughly a decade, is repaired from 2027; the wider ensemble runs to eight construction phases.

Instead, go to: The modern church beside the ruin stays open until early summer 2027. Berlin Experiences on visiting the Memorial Church.
