A new museum of exile was to rise behind the surviving portal of the Anhalter Bahnhof. At a projected €130m the building was abandoned. The foundation is instead fitting out a listed villa at Fasanenstraße 24 near the Kurfürstendamm, with opening planned for late 2027 or early 2028. The Anhalter Bahnhof portal stays as it was.
