Deutsche Bahn has been renovating Bahnhof Zoo from the ground up since the end of February 2015, at a cost of about €250m, and expects all the work to be finished in 2032, when the track hall over the S-Bahn platforms is done. That hall has been closed since 2022 and is now largely gutted. Trains keep running throughout. Entwicklungsstadt reports the current plan as reopening the S-Bahn hall in 2028 and finishing the halls over the tracks by 2029.
